The historic Saints Peter and John Episcopal Church in Auburn, New York, is seeking an organist and choir director to begin in September, 2014. Duties would include playing 8:30-11:30 a.m. each Sunday for choir rehearsal and music service. Director duties would include directing a choir with one weeknight rehearsal and a rehearsal 1 hour before the 10 am service. Funerals and weddings extra. The large, 19th century building is furnished with a 2-manual pipe organ with much of the 1887 Roosevelt pipe work intact and restoration plans underway. Organ students have often succeeded in this position, but any individual whose primary interest is organ with some piano available would be encouraged to apply. Salary commensurate with experience. The United Church of Fayetteville seeks a Director of Music Ministries or would consider two church musicians who would assume the jobs of Organist and/or Choir Director for its strong music program. Some duties include: providing organ music for Sunday worship, directing choirs (vocal and handbells) or instrumentalists and participating in weekly rehearsals and one worship service. St. John’s blends traditional hymns with some contemporary pieces, using both piano and organ accompaniment to provide a dynamic worship service. We are a family sized parish that is looking to grow our music program and membership.

We are seeking a musician with the following qualifications:
· Proficient piano accompanist (must read music)
· Experience with Episcopal Hymns preferred
· Ability to play the organ preferred
· Ability to teach new music to the congregation

The pianist / organist will:
· Enhance the worship experience at St. John’s Episcopal Church through providing high quality music.
· Provide organ and/or piano accompaniment for worship services and rehearsals.
· Consult with vestry designates to choose, prepare and provide all service music including three weekly hymns, a prelude, offertory, and postlude to coincide with the worship theme.
· Prepare bulletin notifications and notify the office electronically 2 weeks prior to each service. · Participate in worship planning.
· Provide notice and/or a qualified substitute for any services when on vacation or unable to be present.
· Provide music for weddings and funerals (with additional compensation) subject to availability. If not available, assist in securing a substitute.

St. John's is a community of faith with a strong ministry of music. The Director of Music will direct children, youth, hand bell, and adult choirs, lead weekly rehearsals, play and accompany the choirs at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service. The part-time position of Organist/Music Director at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Fayetteville, NY is open as of March 1, 2014. The Music Director is responsible for bell and vocal choirs as for the planning and preparation of liturgical celebrations including worship services, funerals, weddings, etc. The position requires proficiency in organizing the congregation’s music groups and musicians in ensembles or as soloists. The Music Director is expected to schedule regular rehearsals to provide direction and training. There are two services on Sunday from September through May and one Sunday service during the summer. The Organist/Music Director is a member of the Church Council’s Worship & Music Committee and works closely with the Pastor in planning worship services. Good Shepherd’s pipe organ was built by Kerner & Merchant in 1984, and refurbished and upgraded in 2004. It is primarily designed for service playing but is versatile enough to play most concert organ literature. The church also owns a Steinway baby grand piano which is located in the sanctuary and can also be used as part of the worship services. Salary for this position is negotiable. The Organist must be able to play both organ and piano, and see to their maintenance. St. Alban's has a high quality, small Casavant pipe organ, a grand piano in the church, and an upright piano in the choir room. The Organist will collaborate with the Choir Director and work with any guest musicians. Four Syracuse University music students are paid as Section Leaders for our small choir. SU Senior Matthew Hernandez also serves as Choir Director. The Organist will work with the Rector and Choir Director to plan the music program, and is responsible to the Rector. The Organist is expected to come prepared 15 minutes prior to the Sunday morning 10:00 a.m. choir rehearsal and 10:30 a.m. service, and also the Thursday evening choir rehearsal from 7:00- 8:15 p.m. The Organist must be at St. Alban's on Christmas Eve, Christmas morning, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday (which directly precede Easter), and Easter. Organist, pianist and choir director needed as soon as possible. Choir of about 12 - 18 members, all eager to sing. The church has an Allen organ, and a baby grand piano. The job would entail Sunday morning service at 9am, choir rehearsals, as well as possible funeral or wedding events. There may be other possibilities for additional musical group formation depending on the skills of the candidate. It is also possible in the future that another service will be added. This is a permanent position, with four Sundays of vacation per year. However, the four Sundays cannot be taken during the Christmas or Easter holidays. The organist is expected to be present for Christmas Eve service, Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. These are very important times for the church, and are not negotiable. The salary offered is $8100 per year; pay periods are twice monthly. The choir has presented a Christmas and Spring Cantata this last year, and enjoys most forms of music - from praise (contemporary) to more traditional forms of Lutheran music. The candidate should be an experienced player - no novices please. Applicants will be asked to play various liturgies and hymns from the Lutheran books of worship, as well as preludes and postludes appropriate for the church year seasons.
