Workshop on the organ music of Denis Bédard By Kola Owolabi, Saturday March 24th, 10:30 am - Noon

Hendricks Chapel, Syracuse University

Born in Quebec in 1950, Denic Bédard is Director of Music at Holy Rosary Cathedral in Vancouver, Canada. /he has written an extensive amount of repertoire for organ that is both easy to learn and accessible to any audience. This session will showcase several of his works, including sets of variations on well-known hymn tunes.

Digital Organ Workshop For Young Organists By Wayne Skinner Saturday, April 28th, 10:30am - 11:30am

Pitcher Hill Community Church, 605 Bailey Road, North Syracuse

Geared towards young keyboard players, this workshop and mini-concert will feature a 2-manual, 46-rank digital Allen organ, with a 100 voice MIDI sound expander/sequencer. Participants will tour the features of a digital church organ and explore creative ways to incorporate MIDI systems into contemporary and traditional church music. Participants are encouraged to play a short selection and try some of the new concepts that will be discussed. RSVP by calling 622-3926. ~ A pizza lunch will follow the presentation ~

This concert on the 1924 W. S. Stevens organ will feature performances by several members of the Syracuse AGO.
